Local Area Youth Workers
Council has allocated a youth
worker to cover each local area of the municipality. Local area
workers make links with schools in each of the local areas as well
as plan projects and programs with local communities. If you have a
comment, idea or request, please contact Youth Services on 9404
8800 or email yrc@whittlesea.vic.gov.au to chat to your local area
worker.
Youth Krew - Having Your Say
The Youth Krew committee meets
on a weekly basis through the year to plan and deliver the annual
Youth Summit and the annual youth participation and leadership
camp. Youth Krew plays an important role in informing council on
the issues facing young people as well as shaping the service
delivery for youth services. Please contact Blair on 9404 8800 to

Activities for Your Holidays
Council’s Youth Services
offers Holiday Packages called “Grab Bags”. Grab Bags contain a
number of vouchers and discounts that can be used during the school
holidays. Grab Bags allow you to choose what you want to do on your
holidays at the time you want to do the activities. These are only
available for secondary school aged students, 12 to 17 years old
who live in City of Whittlesea. For more information contact us on

FReeZA ‘Queen Takes Jack’ Underage Music Events
City of
Whittlesea in conjunction with 'Queen Takes Jack' (our
local FReeZA committee) runs underage entertainment events, music
gigs and dance parties. For more information contact us on 9404

between 14 to18 years old and are interested in joining 'Queen
Takes Jack,' a group that organises underage music events,

Polyfuze Program
Bringing young Samoan & Pacific Islander people together
(for ages 12 – 22)
Meet mates in the Recreation Group with
activities such as rugby, basketball, billiards, outings and other
great fun OR come along to the Dance/Music Cultural group. Polyfuze
meets on Wednesdays during school terms @ French Street Hall in

Youth Group Support and Development Service
This service
aims to support new youth groups and clubs as well as those that
are already established in our local communities. Ask about
equipment, network meetings and other support offered to youth

First Impressions Youth Theatre
For people aged 14 to 25
This Youth Theatre meets each
Monday @ Epping Memorial Hall at 6pm. The group supports young
people to devise, direct and perform their own theatrical and
multi-media works. Recent shows include the Finale at the Community
festival and an original work staged in the Skate Park. Currently
the group is making a music video clip. For more information

Intercultural Diversity Project
The Intercultural Diversity Project is a project which
the City of Whittlesea runs in partnership
with various community organisations and was launched
on 23 July 2007 and primarily involves school
children in the Whittlesea region.

Skate, BMX & Rollerblade Opportunities
Council has
developed a range of skate/bmx parks, including the regional Epping
Skate Escape option in McDonalds Rd, Epping and some local options
in Bundoora, Whittlesea Township and Thomastown. Please contact us
if you want to know the locations of any skate/BMX facilities in
the City of Whittlesea or if you want to be involved in the
development and management of these!
